He reënacted for the psychologist a scene of Victor forcing him to sit at the piano while commanding, “Practice, practice.” The psychologist concluded that Friedmann was “a rather sad man,” aloof and distrustful but also prone to “an upsurge of disruptive ideas.” She added, “An intellectual assessment was not done because it has already been determined that Alex has ability well above average.”
